BYE BYE 2018!
WHAT A YEAR!
First, I need to start with saying how insanely grateful I am to live this life and how humbled I am by my career. The support and growth we met this year was incredible and we can’t wait to see what the new year has in store for us!
It was a year filled with smiling faces and even a few tears shed. We were able to start off strong and work through the entire year, summer included. My first year as a photographer I didn’t shoot a single paid gig through the summer time so I only assumed this year would be the same. I was surprised by a few fun sessions with clients and even my biggest wedding to date.. With a wedding party of 32! Talk about fun.
Just a few days prior to the wedding I found out I was pregnant with our third child, a baby girl! She will be here in March and I can’t deny.. It’ll be nice to take just a little time off for her and I to bond while the Louisiana Summer heat does it’s thing.
I got to work with a new friend and fellow photographer on two of her weddings and it’s so nice to be able to be a part of such a welcoming and talented community. The year ended with a jam packed fall season that kept me on my toes and inspired me to write this blog. In the middle of the busiest season I also got the opportunity to work with a local home/lifestyle blogger on a huge project. Crystal was part of Better Home & Garden’s One Room Challenge where she totally remodeled and styled her entire master bedroom. I was honored when she asked me to be a part of her team and photograph the room once completed. Not only was it such a fun experience but home decor is my JAM! And now I have another friend and business partner to grow with! You can check out her blog post on the One Room Challenge over at The Holliday Collective.
This is also the year we decided to go dive deep and train ourselves in marketing, pitching, and all sorts of fun ways to promote and grow our business. We were also able to secure 5 weddings (so far *wink wink) for 2019 and one wedding in 2020! One being my very first destination wedding. How exciting! To have come this far in just two short years is a blessing we never expected and we are so excited to work with all of our up-and-coming Brides, Grooms, Families, and Friends. All in all, it was an amazing year and we had so many perfect families in front of the lens this Fall. Here are just a few of my absolute favorites!
CHEERS TO 2019!
